This release boasts over 250 enhancements focused on performance and stability, ensuring that our customers experience unparalleled reliability and efficiency.

Here are some of the standout improvements:

Security & Performance

• Distribution Upgrade: We have upgraded the underlying distribution to bolster cyber resilience and accelerate engineering speed, empowering our customers to stay ahead of evolving threats and providing them with an overall better experience as well as enhanced performance.
• Edge Computing: Our innovative Edge Computing feature, which enhances edge security on the CloudGen Firewall by eliminating the need for additional infrastructure allows customers to run applications directly on the firewall, minimizing communication latencies while maintaining robust security. Supporting the Open Container Initiative (OCI) standard, this feature opens the door to a ton of new use cases, enabling organizations to deploy almost any OCI-compliant application seamlessly.

Networking

• Multicast Routing Support: Enhance your network’s efficiency with our new multicast routing capabilities, designed to optimize data flow and resource utilization.
• LLDP Support: Our Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) support simplifies network management and improves device discovery, making it easier to maintain a robust network infrastructure.

Automation

• REST API Enhancements: We are excited to introduce a wealth of new REST calls and endpoints, propelling us further along our journey to fully restify the CGF, making integration and automation smoother than ever.
• New Configuration Templates: Experience effortless automatic rollouts of high availability units with our new configuration templates, streamlining deployment processes and reducing time to market.

User Experience

• Massive UX Improvements: We have made significant strides in user experience, particularly for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) as well as "power users". These enhancements facilitate daily recurring tasks and troubleshooting, allowing our users to operate more efficiently and effectively.

New Barracuda Firewall Admin 9.0.4 available

we are pleased to announce availability of Barracuda Firewall Admin 9.0.4-28 fixing a GTI issue:
- After GTI network change, encryption of all tunnels changed to DES (BNNGF-96298)

In addition, missing functionality in Tina S2S Transport configuration was re-added:
- Tina S2S Transports are again configurable with explicit local peer when Policy Ruleset is applied (BNNGF-96573, BNNGF-96859, BNNGF-97108)

The Cloud Service Update for SecureEdge was released on May 6, 2025. We are happy to announce that this release includes the new SecureEdge Reporting service. The following improvements have been added:

• SecureEdge Reporting now in the two regions US and EMEA.
• Unattended Enrollment for Windows SecureEdge Access Agents.
• CDN for the SecureEdge Manager for improved performance and global availability.
• Site-specific DC Client configuration.
• TPM for SecureEdge Access Agents (pending availability for SecureEdge Access Agents 2.0.0 on all marketplaces).
• ZTNA trials now available for 10 users, reducing the number of $0 orders for POCs.
• Support for the US region for the Reporting service.
• SecureEdge Access Agent 2.0.0 release (currently available only for Windows; other platforms will follow shortly).
• SSL Client certificates now installed automatically through the SecureEdge Access Agent.

We are pleased to announce availability of the Barracuda Network Access Client 5.3.7 for Windows.

The following improvements have been added:

• SAML authentication is now working properly when returning from sleep mode. (BNNGF-95959)
• An issue causing intermittent VPN tunnel reconnections has been resolved. (BNNGF-96128)
• A connection establishment issue with VPN servers using IPv6 has been resolved. (BNNGF-96303)
• An issue with processing network packets from certain process instances in the Personal Firewall has been resolved. (BNNGF-96520, BNNGF-96594)
• An issue with processing large SAML assertions has been resolved. (BNNGF-96632)
