Barracuda ArchiveOne

Archive Search returns ‘Sorry, no archived items match your search criteria’ ACSS_TOKEN_TOO_LARGE

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 11 months ago
Solution #00007578

Scope: ArchiveOne Enterprise, all versions.

Answer:

SYMPTOMS

When running a search from the ArchiveOne admin console with criteria that should return results you get the following message:

"Sorry, no archived items match your search criteria"

In the ArchiveOne service tracing, you see the lines:

02 10:26:49 913611  CSearchIndex::ixProcessQuery() failed. Status: -49
02 10:26:49 918531  That error code is due to a token too large
02 10:26:49 925076  MetaSearchIndex::Search AOneSearchIndex failed for respository 'Repository 1', status 26:ACSS_TOKEN_TOO_LARGE

ROOT CAUSE

This error is presented when one of the search criteria including the condition becomes longer than 200 characters when converted to hex format. You are therefore limited to 28 characters in your search criteria.

RESOLUTION

To work around this limitation you need to use different conditions for your criterion. For example: From is "Thisisatestemailaddress@myarchiveoneserver.com (test address)" can be changed to From starts with "Thisisatestemailadddress@". This brings the search term under the 28 character limit.
