This solution applies to the Barracuda Email Security Service (BESS)
If you have tried to enable the users in the USERS > Add/Update Users but, you have been unsuccessful (the accounts remain "DISABLED" under the USERS > Users List), you will need to follow these instructions.
Go to the DOMAINS TAB Select the domain in question, and select the "Manage" (over to the far right) Then choose the USERS TAB > Quarantine Notification section, if you have both "Default interval for user quarantine notifications" set to NEVER and "Allow users to specify interval" set to No, there is no reason for users to login and/or even have an account setup on the ESS Server.
Thus to resolve this and be able to enable these accounts: you could set one or the other or both of the following: Either set "Default interval for user quarantine notifications" to something other than NEVER and/or, set "Allow users to specify interval" to Yes. This will enable the users account in ESS and you will be able to "ENABLE" the users account(s).
