How do I configure XenDesktop with my Barracuda SSL VPN?

Solution #00005826

Scope:
This solution applies to the Barracuda SSL VPN, all firmware versions.

Answer:
The Barracuda SSL VPN supports XenDesktop via the XenDesktop web interface. To get this working, create a new Web Forward with the below settings:

Step 1: Create a new Path-based Reverse Proxy, give it a suitable name and set the Destination URL to:

http://vController/Citrix/DesktopWeb/auth/login.aspx

where vController is the address of your XenDesktop vContoller machine.

Step 2: Set which Policies will be able to launch this resource, then click Add.

Step 3: Now edit this new Web Forward, setting the 'Always Launch Agent' option to Yes.

If you want to pass your credentials through to the XenDesktop automatically, do the following:
  • Set the Authentication Type to: Form-Based
  • Set the Form Type to: JavaScript
  • Set the Form Name to: CitrixForm
  • Keep the timeout as the default 1 second (you may need to increase this if on a bad connection).

Step 4:

In the Form Parameters, add the following 3 items:

user=${session:username}
password=${session:password}
domain=mydomain

where mydomain is the name of the windows domain your XenDesktop environment is a member of.

Save the changes.

Now when your users launch the Web Forward, the SSL VPN Agent automatically starts, and the SSL VPN then automatically logs you on to the XenDesktop portal, and the Virtual Desktop is connected automatically.
