Barracuda Web Security Service

Why do some subnets lose internet access when WCCP is set up on my Barracuda Web Security Gateway?

Solution #00005589

Scope:

This solution applies to Barracuda Web Security Gateway, version 5.0.0.006.

Answer:
When setting up the WCCP GRE interface on your Barracuda Web Security Gateway, the appliance uses the local service address (default value: 172.27.72.27).  The GRE tunnel endpoint will try to route traffic to your LAN clients originating from this IP address.

You can configure your local service address to a routable IP address on your LAN.  You can do so under the CONFIGURATION > Gateway > IP Configuration page of your Barracuda Flex interface. This IP address will be the loopback address for serving block pages and all redirected WCCP web traffic.
