Moving the File Storage Server - On Premise

  • Last updated on

If you need to move the File Storage Server, perform the procedure below. The File Storage Service that manages the communication between Barracuda RMM and the File Storage Server updates automatically when you move the File Storage Server using this procedure.

Users in self-hosted environments can use a local server path on install or a UNC path. If a user uses a local path, they should be aware that the File Storage Server can use a large amount of hard disk space.

For UNC paths, you must provide the username and password.

When you complete this procedure, all automation scripts, script packages, quick tasks, and the files used as parameters in scripts that have not been manually deleted in Service Center are restored. So, if you do this procedure because your memory is low, ensure you choose a new location with additional available memory.
  1. In a command prompt, navigate to the <location>/FileStorageService folder, where <location> is the where you unzipped the Barracuda RMM installer package.
  2. Run the following:
    msiexec.exe /i MW.FileStorageService.WindowsInstaller.msi IsHosted=1 /l*v SC_AFP_Install.log /norestart
  3. When prompted, select the Repair option and click the Back button.
  4. Select a new location.
  5. Complete the installation wizard.
  6. In Service Center, click Automation > Library.
  7. From the More Actions list, select Restore Automation Binaries.
  8. Copy or move the files that are in <location>/FileStorageService on the original device to the target device.
