Configuring Microsoft Updates for Domain Members

Barracuda RMM does not use GPO settings to define the update server to managed clients, so any WSUS policies that are in place on the Domain will interfere with normal operations of Patch Management.

  1. In the Group Policy Management console, right-click the policy object you want to edit, then click Edit.
  2. In the Group Policy Management Editor console, navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates: Policy definitions (ADMX files) retrieved from the local machine > Windows Components > Windows Update.

  3. Click Do not display ’Install Updates and Shut Down’ option in Shut Down Windows dialog box, then click the policy setting link.

  4. Select Not Configured.

  5. Click Next Setting.

  6. Repeat Steps 3-4 until the Next Setting button is greyed out.
    You should be on the Allow signed updates from an intranet Microsoft update service location page.

  7. Click OK.
