Intronis Backup policies automatically deploy an Intronis Backup agent to any device the policy has been assigned to, unless that device already has an Intronis Backup agent.
If a policy is applied to a device that already has an Intronis Backup agent, the policy does not overwrite the agent or install a new agent. In this case, one of the following happens:
- If the agent’s configuration matches both the ECHOplatform partner account and the ECHOplatform customer account used in the Barracuda RMM deployment, the backup proceeds.
- If the agent’s configuration doesn’t match both the ECHOplatform partner account and the ECHOplatform customer account used in the Barracuda RMM deployment, the backup fails. The Device Report page displays a Deployment Failed (account mismatch) error for that device. The existing agent remains and the device is not backed up using the Intronis Backup policy.
