In order to use Advanced Software Management to apply updates, you must purchase an additional license. Contact your Barracuda sales representative.

You have two options for scheduling patching for third party applications. You can:

The Advanced Software Management schedule determines options such as patching frequency and recurrence.

To install third party updates according to an execution schedule

This procedure sets an Advanced Software Management policy to install updates according to the applicable execution schedule, if:

  • The execution schedule has been configured properly, and
  • The Advanced Software Management policy has been added to a service plan or a service in a service plan.
  1. In Service Center, click Service Delivery > Policies > Advanced Software Management.
  2. Click New to create a policy, or click the name of an existing policy.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click Modify.
  5. Select the Install as per applicable Execution Schedule option button.
  6. Click Save. Then add third party patching to an existing execution schedule by following the procedure.
To set up a third party software patch schedule that overrides any applicable execution schedules

When setting up an Advanced Software Management policy, you can indicate that the policy uses the applicable execution schedule that was set up for the site or group to which the devices in the policy belong. If you do not want to use the applicable execution schedule, you can override it and create a custom software management schedule within the policy.

You may want to override execution schedules to create a patching schedule that meets your specific patching requirements.

  1. In Service Center, click Service Delivery > Policies > Advanced Software Management.
  2. Click New to create a policy, or click the name of an existing policy.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click Modify.
  5. Select the Override Execution Schedules option button.
  6. In the Start Time box, type a start time for when patching will begin. Alternatively, you can click the clock icon to select a time from the list.
  7. In the Recurrence Pattern area, select whether you want patches to run daily, weekly, or monthly.
  8. Click Save.
