Setting an Alert to Clear Automatically

  • Last updated on

You can set some alerts to clear automatically after a period of time that you choose. Clearing an alert is different than self-healing in the following ways:

When setting alerts to clear automatically, you can also choose to clear any trouble tickets created by the alert at the same time.

Auto-clear is not available for all monitor types. For more information, see Self-healing vs Automatically Clearing Alerts in Setting an Alert to Self-heal.
  1. Locate the name of the monitor you want to configure. See Locating Monitors.
  2. Click the Alerts tab.
  3. Click the name of the alert.
  4. Select the Auto-Clear Alerts check box.
  5. Select a time period.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Save.
To set an alert to automatically clear and close any trouble tickets associated with the alert

If you select the Clear Trouble Ticket check box in the Auto-Clear Open Alerts Configuration window, any trouble tickets associated with this alert will be closed if the alert clears automatically. It doesn’t matter if the trouble ticket was created automatically or if it was created manually, when this option is selected, all associated trouble tickets will be closed if the alert clears automatically.

  1. Locate the name of the monitor you want to configure. See Locating Monitors.
  2. Click the Alerts tab.
  3. Click the name of the alert.
  4. Optionally, select the Create Trouble Ticket check box.
  5. Select the Auto-Clear Alerts check box.
  6. In the Auto-Clear Open Alerts Configuration window, select the Clear Trouble Ticket check box.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Save.
