Barracuda NextGen Firewall X

DHCP relay is in status started but it does not work

Solution #00005071
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x, 5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

The "DHCP relay" is configured correctly and the status of the service is green. Anyway the "DHCP service" is not working.

Check whether you have introduced multiple "DHCP relays" or a "DHCP relay" and a "DHCP server" on the same machine. On netfence systems, only one "DHCP relay" per gateway is a supported. The combination of a "DHCP server" and a "DHCP relay" on the same gateway is not possible.
Additionally check if all network interfaces, which are involved in the "DHCP relay" configuration have been defined. Add both, the interfaces receiving the DHCP request, and those interfaces forwarding the request to the server to the interfaces list.

Remove redundant "DHCP server" and/or "DHCP relay"  from the NG Firewall gateway. Configure all participating network interfaces in the "DHCP relay" configuration.
