Scope:
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x, 5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

 
Symptoms:

When two client computers try to use the server message block (SMB) protocol to connect to a Windows 2000 Server, the NAT connection (ProxyDyn) of the first connected client is reset by the more recent connection of the other client.


 

Solution:

This issue is related to a bug in Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. The bug has been fixed in Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000.

If Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 does not solve the problem, direct hosting has to be disabled in the Windows registry.
