Barracuda NextGen Firewall X

Box uses old remote management tunnel 'VPN Point of Entry' IP after change

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 7 months ago
Solution #00005135
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x,5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

Though the VPN point of entry has been changed on a Control Centre administered box, it still uses it.

The "VPN point of entry" has been changed while the remote management tunnel was still in initialised status. Thus, the former settings are still active.

Kill the initialised remote management tunnel on the box. Proceed as follows to do so:

1. Log in to the box at the command line interface.

2. Execute the command
  killall vpnc

3. Repeat this command, until the message "No Process killed" is displayed.
