Barracuda NextGen Firewall X

How to activate debugging for OSPF?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 5 months ago
Solution #00005137

Scope:
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x,5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

Symptoms:
A higher verbosity for OSPF logging is required.

Solution:

Follow this steps to activate the debugging for OSPF.

1. Create a new file named ospf.debug in the directory containing the OSPF configuration files.

  cd /opt/phion/config/active/servers/<servername>/services/ospf/
  vi ospf.debug

2. Insert the cipher 9 as initial and only value into the file (first line and first position) and save it.

The OSPF service does not have to be restarted. The following entry will be generated in the OSPF log file after the file has been saved, indicating a changed log level:
INFO Debug file changed: reloading (9 -> verb: 9, exact: -1)
