Barracuda NextGen Firewall X

How to check the proxy configuration for errors

  • Type: Knowledgebase

Solution #00005155
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x,5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

The HTTP proxy server cannot be started due to a syntax error in the configuration file squid.conf. The misspelled configuration line is not evident. How can the file be checked quickly?

1. Log in at the command line interface with user 'root'

2. Enter the following command:

  squid -N -f /var/phion/preserve/proxy/<servername_servicename>/root/squid.conf

If commands have been misarranged, the row number containing the flawed configuration will by thrown to the output.
