  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 5 months ago
Solution 00005268

Scope:
This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x, 5.0.x, 5.2.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

Symptoms:

Proxy service crash with a similar line in "Log" > "<Servername>" > "<Servicename>" > "cache.log":

Error: Too many queued ntlmauthenticator requests (<X> on <Y>)

Solution:

Your configuration allows squid to use only <Y> authenticator requests. At the moment <X> authenticator requests are queued.

Configure your settings according your network size. At "Config" > "Box" > "Virtual Servers" > "<Servername>" > "Assigned Services" > "<Servicename>" > "HTTP Proxy Settings" > "Access Control" > "Authentication Settings" you have configured a number of "Authentication Worker" - increase these worker until your proxy runs stable.
