Connect to the appliance that is supposed to be the primary machine and activate as described in the chapter “Barracuda Activation” in the Admin Guide for firmware release 5.2 and later.

Configure the primary machine as required

Set up a DHA pair as described in chapter “High Availability” in the in the Admin Guide for firmware release 5.2 and later.

Connect to the primary machine again and on the Status page select the activation again. This will trigger automatic download of  licenses for the secondary machine into the configuration of the primary machine.

Manually check in Control -> Licenses if the primary and secondary machine are correctly licensed.

Known Issues:

Control -> Licenses only shows valid licenses for the current machine. In order to see all licenses the machine holds (including the licenses for the HA partner) please go to Config -> Licenses. This behavior is intentional.

During activation of the primary machine the message upon successful license download only shows the serial of the primary (current) machine, even if also the licenses for the secondary machine have been downloaded.
