Scope:

This solution applies to the SipDroid softphone application (1.6.1 beta) connecting to Barracuda Phone Systems.


Answer:

Registering a SipDroid softphone Application to the Barracuda Phone System can be done in a few steps.

From the Phone System

For Firmware Versions 2.5.005 and earlier:
  1. Navigate to Extensions > People, and select the desired user.
  2. Scroll down to the section of the properties page labeled Phones and click Add a Phone.
  3. Select  Generic SIP Device and click the button labeled Add Phone.
  4. Click on the new Phone on the properties and select Phone Information.
  5. Click on the extension number on the left side of the window.
For Firmware Versions 2.6 and Later:

  1. Navigate to Extensions > People, and select the desired user.
  2. Scroll down to the section of the properties page labeled Phones and click Add a Phone.
  3. Select  Generic SIP Device and click the button labeled Add Phone.
  4. Click on the new Phone on the properties and select Reg Info from the section labeled Utilities for the Desired Line.

From the SipDroid Client:
  1. Select Menu, then Settings, and select the SIP Account section.
  2. Enter the Auth Username from the Phone System Phone Information screen in the field labeled Authorization Username.
  3. Enter the Password from the Phone System Phone Information screen in the field labeled Password.
  4. Enter the Domain IP address from the Phone System Phone Information screen in the field labeled Server or Proxy (please do not include the :5065).
  5. Enter 5065 in the field labeled Port.
  6. Select UDP in the field labeled Protocol.
