How do I configure my 3CX Android client to register to my Barracuda Phone System?

Scope:

This solution applies to the 3CX Soft-Phone Client for Android (Version 1.2.3) connecting to Barracuda Phone Systems.


Answer:

Registering a 3CX Android Client to the Barracuda Phone System can be done in a few steps.

From the Barracuda Phone System

For Firmware Versions 2.5.005 and earlier:
  1. Navigate to Extensions > People, and select the desired user.
  2. Scroll down to the section of the properties page labeled Phones and click Add a Phone.
  3. Select  Generic SIP Device and click the button labeled Add Phone.
  4. Click on the new Phone on the properties and select Phone Information.
  5. Click on the extension number on the left side of the window.
For Firmware Versions 2.6 and Later:
  1. Navigate to Extensions > People, and select the desired user.
  2. Scroll down to the section of the properties page labeled Phones and click Add a Phone.
  3. Select  Generic SIP Device and click the button labeled Add Phone.
  4. Click on the new Phone on the properties and select Reg Info from the section labeled Utilities for the Desired Line.

From the 3CX Client:
  1. Select Menu, then Profiles.
  2. If you are on the Barracuda Phone System's local network, and auto-provisioning is enabled, you can attempt to auto-provision the client. Otherwise, touch No then touch Add New.
  3. Provide a Profile name which you will recognize.
  4. Enter the Auth Username from the BPS Phone Information screen in the field labeled User.
  5. Enter the Password from the BPS Phone Information screen in the field labeled Password.
  6. Enter the Domain (from LAN) IP address as shown on the BPS Phone Information screen in the field labeled Internal Server. Make sure to include the port :5065 at the end of the address.
  7. Enter the Domain (Outside LAN) IP address as shown on from the BPS Phone Information screen in the field labeled External Server. Make sure to include the port :5065 at the end of the address.
  8. Touch Advanced.
  9. Enter 5065 in the field labeled Port.
  10. Select Enable NAT.
  11. Touch the Back Button.
  12. Touch Save.
