How do I manually configure my Snom PA1 to download its provisioning files from my Barracuda Phone System?

This solution applies to all Snom PA1 series IP phones connecting to Barracuda Phone Systems.


In some cases, you may want to disable automatic provisioning and manually configure your phones to obtain their configuration from your Barracuda Phone System. The best way to accomplish this is from the phone itself.

Note - The process of connecting the Snom PA1 to the PA system will vary depending on PA system model and type of connections or options installed. Please refer to both the PA systems documentation, and the Snom PA1 quick install guide for instructions on phyical connections.

Once the PA1 is connected to the PA system, or with a set of headphones connected to the PA1 via the Line Out jack, press the IP/Reset button until the call light turns green, then release the button.The PA1 will announce it's currently configured IP address

Open a web browser, and navigate to the IP address for the phone. Click on Advanced in the left pane, then select Updates from the center pane. Enter http://<IP address of BPS>/provision/ in the box labeled SettingURL: and set Update Policy: to Update Automatically. Click Save then Reboot to complete setup.
