How many simultaneous user connections are supported on my Barracuda SSL VPN?

Solution #00003714

Scope:
This solution applies to Barracuda SSL VPNs, all firmware versions.

Answer:
There is no hard limit to the number of simultaneous user connections to the Barracuda SSL VPN. The limit may depend upon application load or bandwidth requirements, and upon which Barracuda SSL VPN model was selected. However, the Barracuda SSL VPN models are differentiated by hardware and performance, and each have a recommended number of concurrent user sessions can safely run without any noticeable degradation of service.

However, all Barracuda Networks SSL VPN Virtual Machines are slightly different. For most units, (280, 380, 480, 680) the same no hard user limit is also used, however these units are limited in the amount of VM server resources they can use in order to keep the VMs in line with the hardware unit. It is possible to purchase additional licenses for the 680 VM model to increase it's user capacity. The 180 VM is the only virtual machine that does have a fixed simultaneous user capacity, this is set at 15 users which is the same as the recommended simultaneous users.
