Scope:
This solution applies to Barracuda SSL VPNs, all firmware versions.

Answer:

Mail Checking is a feature that can inform a user how many unread emails they have when they log in and provide a shortcut link to a configured web forward resource to directly access their email.

You can find the mail checking options in Resources > Configuration > Mail Checking.

The options for mail checking are:

Mail Reader Web Forward: You may select a Web Forward from this drop down list that you have already configured for your email server. When a user is presented a message telling them how many emails they have, that message then becomes a link to open this web forward.

Protocol: You may select IMAP4, POP or disable this option here.

Hostname of mail server: The hostname of the mail server to connect to and check for user's emails.

Default folder: The folder on the mail server to search for new emails.

Check interval: How many seconds to delay between each check for new emails.
