Scope:
This solution applies to Barracuda SSL VPNs, all firmware versions.

Answer:
The virtual keyboard is an on-screen software keyboard that takes input via mouse clicks. It has been made available with security in mind by enabling users to enter passwords or other sensitive information without typing on the keyboard; this provides an extra layer of defense against malware or software espionage that records keystrokes (commonly known as "keyloggers"). To configure the virtual keyboard, follow the below directions.
  • Navigate to Basic > Configuration > Web Interface.
  • Locate the option Virtual Keyboard mode, there are a number of settings for this option that determine the behavior of the Virtual Keyboard; these are explained below:
    • Enabled On Password Only: This is the default behavior. The virtual keyboard will be enabled for password fields as an optional input method only, the user must toggle the visibility of the virtual keyboard by clicking on the virtual keyboard button.
    • Enabled: The virtual keyboard will be enabled for all fields, but the user must toggle the visibility of the virtual keyboard by clicking on the virtual keyboard button.
    • Enabled and Forced on Password: The virtual keyboard will be enabled for all fields, the user will be forced to use the virtual keyboard on all password fields, but must toggle the visibility of the virtual keyboard by clicking on the virtual keyboard button for other fields.
    • Forced on password: The virtual keyboard will be enabled and the user will be forced to use the virtual keyboard on every password field.
    • Visible: The virtual keyboard will be enabled and will be visible by default.
    • Disable: The virtual keyboard will be completely disabled.
  • Once you have selected the appropriate configuration option, click Save Changes.
