Barracuda SSL VPN

Can I use FTP over my Barracuda SSL VPN?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 10 years ago
Solution #00003800

Scope:
This solution applies to Barracuda SSL VPNs, all firmware versions.

Answer:
There is currently no support for the forwarding of FTP connections through SSL Tunnels, or by using an application due to the way that FTP works (opening random ports to transfer data).

However it is possible to connect to an FTP server using the Network Places feature. Simply enter the path in the following style ftp://username:password@server[:port]/folder or select the FTP network place type and enter the information requested.

For more information on creating Network Places resources, please refer to Solution #00003739.
