Barracuda SSL VPN

How can I upload an SSL certificate from Godaddy to my Barracuda SSL VPN?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 8 years ago

Solution #00004272

Scope:

All Barracuda SSL VPNs.

Answer:
From the appliance web interface, navigate to Basic > SSL Certificate and fill in the required fields for generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) under the Certificate Generation header. NOTE: Please select Apache as the web server type, if applicable. Once the CSR is generated and submitted to Godaddy, they will send back a signed certificate and an intermediate certificate chain bundle both with a .crt file extension. You will need to download the private key from the same page you downloaded the CSR on the Barracuda appliance.

Proceed to upload the signed certificate, intermediate certificate bundle, and the private key under the Trusted Certificate header. Once you have entered the files in the appropriate fields, click Upload Certificate and Key to commit the changes.

Set the Certificate type to Trusted and save.

Click on Synchronize once you are logged back into the SSL Certificate page.

Example:

Upload Signed Certificate: cuda.domain.tld.crt (from Godaddy).

Upload Certificate Chain Bundle: gd_intermediate.crt or
gd_bundle.crt (from Godaddy).

Upload Backup SSL Private key: private.key (downloaded from certificate generation section).
