Solution #00005483

Scope:

This solution applies to all Barracuda SSL VPN.

Answer:
The Barracuda SSL VPN can make backups of both the Appliance and the SSL VPN configurations. These can be created either individually or combined.

To create a backup, log in to the Appliance interface and go to ADVANCED > Backup. In the Configuration Backup section select which configurations should be backed up and then click the Backup button. The backup will be downloaded to the client system.

The backup file will have a name that follows the pattern of BAR-VS-{serial}-{date&time}-{VPN and/or Configuration Backup}.bak, for example,
BAR-VS-123456-20110101094530-VPN_Configuration_Backup.bak.

The backup file can be uploaded to any other Barraucda SSL VPN unit. To do this, log in to the Appliance interface and go to ADVANCED > Backup. In the Restoring Backups section select the Browser option for Restore Backup File, locate and select the Backup file to be uploaded and then select the Upload button. The SSL VPN will apply the configurations, and will then restart so that the settings can take effect.
