This solution applies to all Barracuda SSL VPN Firmware 2.1 and newer.
Answer:
Every Mobile Device has a different method for configuring PPTP. The following are brief guides to the methods that have been encountered during testing of the various devices.
Windows Mobile 6.1
- Go to Settings > Connections > Add a new VPN Server Connection.
- Enter the required details,
- An identifying name
- Set Host name/IP to the SSL VPN hostname or IP
- Set VPN type as PPTP
- [Go to Next page]
- Set the User Name and Password to those of the SSL VPN account
- Select Manage Existing Connections > VPN tab.
- Open the menu for the VPN connection, select Connect.
iPhone/iPad (iOS 9.3.5 or lower)
Note that PPTP support has been removed in iOS 10
- Go to Network > VPN > Add a New VPN Configuration.
- Select PPTP.
- Enter the required details,
- An identifiying description
- Set Server to the SSL VPN hostname
- Set Account to the SSL VPN account
- Switch RSA SecurID to Off
- Account password
- Encrpytion Level to Auto
- Switch Send All Traffic to On
- The new VPN Configuration will be created. Enable the VPN connection to allow the device to connect to the SSL VPN.
Android
- Go to Settings > Wireless Settings > VPN Settings > Add VPN > Add PPTP.
- Enter the required details,
- An identifying VPN Name
- Set VPN Server as the SSL VPN hostname
- Enable Encryption should enabled
- DNS Search Domains should be set to the network the server is in
- The new VPN connection will be created. Enable the VPN connection to start the connection.
- A prompt for the SSL VPN username and password will be made before the connection can be completed; these can be saved.
