Barracuda SSL VPN

How do I configure the SMTP connections on my Barracuda SSL VPN?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 8 years ago

Solution #00005622

Scope:

All Barracuda SSL VPN units.

Answer:

The SSL VPN has the option of connecting to an SMTP server in order to allow emails to be sent from the SSL VPN to the mailserver where the message can be sent onto the email address specified in the message.

To configure SMTP, perform the following steps:
  1. Navigate to BASIC > Configuration > SMTP
  2. Enter the SMTP Server and Port
  3. Enter any login details that will be required
  4. If a different attribute will be used for the email address, then enter it in the Email address Attribute field.
  5. Set the sender address to be displayed for messages sent from the SSL VPN and set a signature, if desired.
  6. Save the SMTP settings.
Only one configuration of SMTP can be set, as a result all User Databases will use the same SMTP settings.

SMTP is used for One Time Password Authentication, Notifications, and Scheduled Reports.
