Patch Management

Barracuda RMM 10 Service Pack 3 introduces patch management for Windows 10 devices managed by Device Manager.

Previously, only devices managed by Onsite Manager could be patch managed.

In order for Windows devices to be kept up to date through patch management, the devices must be:

  • running Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise edition
  • running version 1607 or higher
  • running OS build 14393.321 or higher

Barracuda RMM patch management is now handled by a separate web application named Barracuda RMM Update Service, which will be installed automatically when you upgrade to Barracuda RMM 10.3. For more information about the Barracuda RMM Update Service, see the Setup Guide.

This change supports stability and performance improvements for managing patches. These features do not change the User Interface.

VMWare Service Module

Barracuda RMM includes a number of updates for the VMWare service module.

The service module now displays datastores that are inactive. Inactive datastores were not previously shown in lists of datastores.

Hosts are now displayed with their IP addresses in the name, since it is common for multiple hosts to have the same name.

By default, the default data storage alert threshold has been changed to 90%.

Previously, data storage alert thresholds were calculated based on the combined usage of all instances. Now, alert thresholds are calculated based on individual instance usage.
