Expired Subscriptions

  • Last updated on

This article applies to all data sources in Cloud-to-Cloud Backup.

Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup requires an active subscription license agreement for updates, Technical Support, and to maintain access via Barracuda Backup Cloud (accessed through login.barracuda.com).

Once your subscription expires, Barracuda Networks generally stores customer data for 30 days post termination to allow additional time for you to manually export your data or renew your subscription. After this 30-day retention period, Barracuda Networks retains the right to disable access to your Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup account and delete all customer data, including any cached or backup copies. Once completed, you will no longer be able to access the Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup interface if you have no active subscriptions for any data source.

Cloud-to-Cloud Backup is now aligning product behavior with our Terms & Conditions by limiting backup operations based on current subscription state. Scheduled backups and ad-hoc backups (using the Backup Now functionality in the application) will be disabled once your account subscription is more than 30 days past the expiration date.

Note the following backup policies:

  • Backups will run if your account has an active subscription or is within 30 days of expiration. If your subscription has expired, you should see a notification banner.

  • Within 31–45 days of expiration, restores and exports are still allowed, but backups will stop.

  • After 45 days past expiration, you will no longer be able to back up, restore, or export any data.

  • For example, if your subscription expires June 1:

    • From June 1-30: The product is still fully functional to allow you to manually export your data or renew your subscription.

    • From July 1 to July 15: You can perform restores or exports but not backups.

    • After July 15: you can no longer back up, restore, or export data.

To ensure your subscription is up to date, check the Products tab to confirm that your services are listed as active.

Entra ID Backup Premium

If you choose not to renew your Entra ID Backup Premium subscription and previously had an Entra ID Backup subscription, your account will automatically switch to the Entra ID Backup subscription, however this process is not seamless. To avoid any interruptions in your backups, you will need to reauthenticate your Entra ID connections. Go to the Products page and click Authenticate to reauthorize your connections.

To renew your subscription, contact Barracuda Networks before your subscription expires, along with your serial number.

Barracuda Networks does not offer a data export service for Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup. If you do not plan to renew your subscription and need to access your backup data, it is recommended that you plan accordingly and begin the process of exporting your data as needed prior to the end of the retention period.
