When adding or making changes to a network or IP address, the network subsystem must be restarted in order to activate the new configuration. Depending on your changes, you may need to restart only a certain part of the network subsystem, which can be done in the user interface of Firewall Admin. In certain situations, however, this activation must be executed in a Command Line Interface (CLI).
