Upgrading to Avast Business Antivirus from AVG AntiVirus

AVG AntiVirus is no longer being developed and is replaced by Avast Business Antivirus.

To upgrade to Avast Antivirus, upgrade your Onsite Managers and Device Managers, then do the following:

  1. In Service Center, click Update Center > Products.
  2. Click the check boxes of the sites you want to upgrade.
  3. Click the Advanced Options button.
  4. Click the following check boxes:
    • Update Onsite Managers for selected sites
    • Update Device Managers for selected sites
    • Update Avast Antivirus Clients for selected sites
  5. Click the Update button .

Upgrading Avast Business Antivirus Policies

When your antivirus is upgraded, antivirus policy settings are automatically mapped to a new policy, however, there are some differences between policies. Once you upgrade, make sure to review the settings in your policies.

Once you upgrade, you see a Workstation Settings tab and a Server Settings tab. Unlike AVG AntiVirus policies, you can include settings for both workstations and servers in your Avast Business Antivirus policies.

Upgrading Avast Business Antivirus Execution Schedules

When your antivirus is upgraded, there are some differences between AVG and Avast execution schedules. Once you upgrade, make sure to review the AV Schedules settings of your execution schedule.
