Barracuda Backup requires certain permissions to access and operate on the platforms listed in the following table.

Type Account Required Permission
Microsoft Windows Setup Account and Source/Target System
  • Local Administrator permissions to both install and run the agent service 
Linux Setup Account and Source/Target System
  • Local root account to both install and run the agent service.
