How to Display Server-to-Assigned-Services migrated HA Firewalls with the Server-Services Node Structure (for maintenance purposes only)

  • Last updated on

Starting with firmware release 8.0.2, the former server-service node architecture was replaced by the new assigned-services node structure. As a parallel improvement, HA boxes are now configured and displayed only via the primary firewall in the configuration tree, which means that there is no explicit node that can be used for configuring the secondary firewall independently of the primary one.

In some situations, however, directly accessing the secondary firewall through its dedicated node can be useful for maintenance purposes.

Before You Begin

This article is applicable in the following circumstances:

  • If your HA pair has been upgraded to firmware 8.0.2 and the server-service node has been migrated to the new assigned-services node. For more information, see Migrating the Server Node to the Assigned Services Node (optional).
  • For both standalone firewalls and a CC-managed HA pair of firewalls.
  • For Firewall Admin, you must set the Configuration Mode to Advanced View.

Option 1: How to Display the Server-Service Node Structure for a Standalone HA Pair of Firewalls

  1. Log into the primary firewall.
  2. Go to CONFIGURATION > Configuration Tree > HA Cluster (Primary) > Box Properties.
  3. Click Lock.
  4. In the left navigation bar, click Operational.
  5. In the Operational Settings section, select yes for Dedicated Secondary Config.
