Viewing an Overview of Third Party Software Management

In order to use Advanced Software Management to apply updates, you must purchase an additional license. Contact your Barracuda sales representative.

The Advanced Software Management Overview page provides a summary of the approval settings for available third party patches and the number of devices being updated.

The approval of a patch is always reflected immediately on the Overview page. However, the Status (Installed, Failed, Needed, and so on) comes from Onsite Manager and is updated within the hour.

  • In Service Center, click Advanced Software Management > Overview.
    Here’s a summary of what you see on the Advanced Software Management Overview page:
    • Advanced Software Management Feature  Shows whether Advanced Software Management is enabled or disabled.
    • Patches Approved for Install Shows the number of updates that have the approval status of Install. To see more information about approved patches, click the corresponding number to display the Manual Software Approval page.
    • Patches Declined Shows the number of patches that have an approval status of Declined. To see more information about patches that have been declined, click the corresponding number to display the Manual Software Approval page.
    • Patches Not Approved Shows the number of patches that have an approval status of Not Approved. To see more information about patches that have been declined, click the corresponding number to display the Manual Software Approval page.
    • Patches Failed Shows the number of patches that failed to install. To see more information about patches that have been declined, click the corresponding number to display the Advanced Software Management Patch Report page.
    • Patches Needed Shows the number of patches that have the status of Needed. To see more information about patches that have are needed, click the corresponding number to display the Advanced Software Management Patch Report page.
    • Total Computers Shows the number of devices under Advanced Software Management.
    • Computers with Patch Errors Shows the number of devices that have experienced errors while attempting to install third party updates. To see more information about computers with installation errors, click the corresponding number to display the Advanced Software Management Device Report page.
    • Computers Needing Patches Shows the number of devices that need third party updates approved for the installation to occur. To see more information about computers with patch installation errors, click the corresponding number to display the Advanced Software Management Device Report page.
