Configuring Windows Services for Domain Members

  1. In the Group Policy Management console, right-click the policy object you want to edit, then click Edit .

  2. In the Group Policy Management Editor console, navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > System Services.

  3. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.

  4. Right-click Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.

  5. Right-click Remote Registry and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.

  6. Right-click Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.

  7. Right-click Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.

  8. If the site uses Patch Management, right-click Windows Update and click Properties, then do the following:

    • Select Define this policy setting.

    • Select Automatic.

    • Click OK.
