Understanding the Repositories Node

This article refers to the Barracuda ArchiveOne for Files version 7.2.0 and higher.

Use the Repositories Node to view details about the currently defined Repositories. Expand Repositories, right-click on a repository, and click Properties to access the Repository Properties dialog box:

  • Definition tab – Specify basic repository definition details:

    • Archive Data – Location of the original archive item data plus supporting metadata. Data is stored as .zip files.
    • Index Data – Location of the index data used for searching.

  • Retention tab – Use to specify retention for this repository. By default the retention period is set to Indefinite which means the items within this repository never expire. However, you can change this setting at any time to set the retention period based on Years, Months, or Days:

    If you change the Retention Period from Indefinite, items may be placed into the Recycle pin and possibly purged. Purged items cannot be recovered from the repository.
