The Virus Scanner service offers malware protection in combination with the firewall, HTTP proxy, FTP, and mail gateway services. All firewall models F18 and larger support the Avira virus scanning engine. In order to save system resources on the smallest model F12 and to provide the firewall with malware scanning features, malware is scanned in the cloud instead of running a virus scanner locally on the firewall. The Virus Scanner service requires an active Malware subscription.
