Uninstalling Device Managers

  • Last updated on

You can uninstall Device Manager from within Barracuda RMM or from the device’s Control Panel using remote control.

You can delete Device Managers from devices:

  • On the Onboarding Overview page
  • On the device’s Status page

You should uninstall a Device Manager from a device instead of deleting if you want the device to remain in the site and be converted into a device managed by Onsite Manager. By uninstalling the Device Manager, the device remains in the site, and historical data is maintained. You can then ensure it is discovered by the site.

When uninstalling Device Manager from a macOS device, you must uninstall from the application folder where Device Manager was installed. If you attempt to uninstall from the Download (.zip) folder, the uninstall may fail due to security settings on the system.

Best Practice

If you’re deleting multiple Device Managers, using the Onboarding Overview page is a faster workflow.

To delete Device Managers from devices from the Onboarding Overview page
  1. In Service Center, click Status > Onboarding Overview.
  2. Click a site.
  3. Select one or more device check boxes.
  4. Click Delete Device.
  5. Select Uninstall Device Managers.
  6. Click OK.
To delete a Device Manager from a device from the device’s status page

There are multiple ways to navigate to a device’s status page in Service Center.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In Service Center, click Status > Devices, then click a device name link.
    • In Service Center, on any page where a list of device names appears, click a device name link.
  2. Click the Delete Device button.
  3. Select Uninstall Device Managers.
  4. Click OK.

If you uninstall Device Manager from the device and then delete the device from Service Center, and then re-install Device Manager, it does not show up until the device is first cleared in Onsite Manager.
