Configuring Workstation and Server Settings for an Avast Business Antivirus Policy

A policy is a group of system settings that determine how Avast Business Antivirus will be configured on a device.

A single policy contains settings for both Workstations and Servers. You don't need to create separate Workstation and Server policies.

The Settings tabs list the types of settings that you can apply, which depend upon the deployment options you selected when creating the Avast Business Antivirus policy. For example, by default, the Firewall setting is not enabled. You must enable Firewall when creating an Avast Business Antivirus policy for the Firewall section to be available on the Settings tab.

The Settings tabs are a jumping-off point for configuring the level of protection you want to provide for computer, email, identity, web browsing, and the firewall. You can also configure scan, update, and schedule settings.

Different shields and tools are available for Workstations and Servers. The following table shows which shields and tools are available for each:

  1. Click Service Delivery Policies > Avast  Antivirus.
  2. Click the name of a policy.
  3. Click one of the following tabs:
    • Workstation Settings
    • Server Settings
  4. Do on the Active Protection tab, do any of the following:
  5. Click the Workstation Settings tab, then on the Active Protection tab, do any of the following:
  6. Click the Server Settings tab, then on the Active Protection tab, do any of the following:
  7. Do any of the following:
  8. Click Close.
