Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service

IP Allocation

  • Last updated on

When you add your first application to be protected by Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service, Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service allocates an IP address to that application. You can subsequently configure multiple applications on the same IP address, as long as each application uses different ports.

Once an IP address has been allocated to your account, it remains yours until you release it. Deleting the application does not release the IP address allocated to your account, so you can re-use it for another application.

To check your allocated IP addresses, navigate to Resources > IP Allocation.

The table shows your allocated IP addresses, along with the applications, if any, associated with each.

To Allocate a New IP Address

Click Allocate IP. If you have reached the maximum number of IP addresses your account is licensed for, the Allocate IP button is not functional. You must release an IP address before you can allocate another one.

To Release an IP Address

If there is an IP address without an associated application, you can release the IP address so you can use it with a different application. Click Release and confirm your action.

Note that releasing the IP address cannot be undone. If you are using an IP address in DNS records, you will need to change those DNS records once you release the IP address.
