Attention

Starting May 1st, 2018, we will no longer offer the ArchiveOne family of products. This includes all editions of ArchiveOne, ArchiveOne for Files, Max Compression, and Access Security Manager. If you currently hold a maintenance and support contract, you will continue to receive our award-winning support until your contract expires, or until May 1st, 2019, whichever occurs first. The license for ArchiveOne is perpetual; therefore the software may continue to be used independently without any updates or support indefinitely.

Changes to Your Environment

  • Last updated on

If you make changes to your environment, in some cases you need to make corresponding adjustments to ArchiveOne:

  • If the ArchiveOne Service account is changed, make the service account a member of the Administrators group on the Search and Retrieval Website server in order to allow the ArchiveOne Service to change the service account name used by the Search and Retrieval Website, and make the service account a member of the Administrators group on the Exchange server.
You should then restart the service, restart ArchiveOne Admim to verify the stored password
against the current service account, and if necessary, change it, then restart the Search and Retrieval Website.
  • If you are using an Exchange Outlook Web Access (OWA) front-end/back-end configuration with the Search and Retrieval Website installed on the front-end server, and you decide to use a different server for the OWA front-end server, install the Search and Retrieval Website on the new server. You must also ensure the account running the ArchiveOne Service is a member of the Administrators group on the new server.
In the original configuration of ArchiveOne, you specified a server name to use for the Search and Retrieval Website; if you created a DNS entry for this pointing at the OWA front-end server, reconfigure that DNS entry to point to the new server. You cannot change the ArchiveOnes configured Search and Retrieval Website server name if you have performed any archiving, as the server name is used in message links. If you are in this situation, either redefine the DNS entry for the old OWA server to point to the new OWA server, or contact Support. For more information, refer to Step 1 - Prepare for Installation.
  • If you are adding an Exchange OWA front-end server, where your configuration previously did not have one, and you previously installed the Search and Retrieval Website onto the ArchiveOne Service server or another server, and you now want the Search and Retrieval Website on the OWA front-end server so it is externally accessible, follow the instructions above about moving the OWA front-end server and Search and Retrieval Website.
