How to Limit Unarchiving to a Date Range

  • Last updated on

This article refers to the Barracuda ArchiveOne version 4.0 or higher.

The following article explains how to configure and run a policy to limit unarchiving to a specific date range. Use these steps when you want to unarchive for a date range rather than unarchiving an entire mailbox.

  1. On the ArchiveOne Server, open the ArchiveOne Admin Console.
  2. Right-click Policies, and then select New:
  3. In the Policy Definition dialog box in the Policy name field, enter a name to identify the new policy.
  4. Click Search Criteria, and specify the date range criteria.
  5. Click Actions, and select List.
  6. Close the Admin Console.
  7. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the Add-Ins share, for example, \\{configuration server}\add-ins\aonepol
  8. Find the folder with the same name as the policy you just created, and open the file with the same name and the file extension .c2c in Notepad.
  9. Find the line that reads:
    action=
  10. Change the number that follows to 7, for example:
    action=7
  11. Save and close the file.
  12. Open the Admin Console, and run the policy.

    Do not open or edit the Policy in the Admin Console or the manual change will be discarded and the process will not work.

  13. Remove the policy when it is no longer needed.
