When you first startup Outlook and you are working offline, you will see that the Outlook status bar displays 'Trying to connect...' before it ascertains that there is no connection to the Exchange server. During this initial startup period if you attempt to retrieve an archive message, the ArchiveOne Laptop Client attempts to connect to the ArchiveOne Search & Retrieval websites as it is also determining if there is a suitable network connection available. After five failed attempts to connect, the Laptop Client assumes the website is inaccessible and defaults to using the local offline repository on the client machine for the archived message retrieval.
Where Outlook is working in Offline mode, the ArchiveOne Laptop Client defaults immediately to using the local offline repository.
