OVERVIEW

When performing an install, upgrade or migration of the ArchiveOne Express system you will need to determine and note the existing system configuration.

HOW TO STEPS

To document the current ArchiveOne configuration you will need to determine:

1. Exchange server name - The name of the Exchange server or CAS Array to which ArchiveOne is connected.

2. This can be found by opening the ArchiveOne Admin console and selecting the 'Status' node. The Exchange server name is given in the right-hand pane.Configuration server name - The name of the server which hosts the Add-ins shared folder containing the configuration data.

3. This can be found by opening the ArchiveOne Admin console and selecting the 'Status' node. The Configuration server name is given in the right-hand pane.SQL instance name - The name of the SQL instance used by ArchiveOne to provide the Browse Archive, Auditing, Search Optimization and Case Management features.

4. This can be found by examining the registry on the archive server:

1. On the archive server, open the Registry Editor by running 'regedit'.

2. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AOnePolService\Parameters

3. The value of 'SQLInstance' is the SQL instance name.Service account name - The name of the domain account used by the ArchiveOne software to function.

*This can be found by examining the registry on the archive server:

1. On the archive server, open the Registry Editor by running 'regedit'

2. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AOnePolService\Parameters

3. The value of 'Mailbox Name' is the service account name.User group name - The name of the user group for users allowed to administrate ArchiveOne.

*This can be found by examining the registry on the archive server:

1. On the archive server, open the Registry Editor by running 'regedit'.

2. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AOnePolService\Parameters

3. The value of 'Group Name' is the ArchiveOne users group name.Custom registry keys - You may have configured some customized registry settings.

*This can be determined by examining the registry on the archive server:

1. On the archive server, open the Registry Editor by running 'regedit'.

2. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AOnePolService\Parameters

3. The screenshot below shows the standard registry keys which are configured. If you have an additional registry keys set, make a note of their name, type and value so that you can reapply them if needed.


1. Installation directory - The directory location where ArchiveOne is installed.

1. This can be found by confirming where the ArchiveOne Admin console shortcut points:

1. On the archive server, right-click the ArchiveOne Admin conole shortcut on the desktop and select 'Properties'.

2. The 'Target' location will give the installation directory path. By default, this will be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\C2C Systems\Archive One'.Search & Retrieval website location - The server(s) hosting the Search & Retrieval 
websites.

*This can be found from the ArchiveOne Admin console:

1. Right-click the 'Status' node and select 'Run System Configuration Wizard...'

2. Click 'Next' until you reach the 'Search URL' step.

3. The given URL here indicates the location of the Search & Retrieval websites. This may be a NETBIOS hostname, an internal FQDN or a publically available FQDN. The Search & Retrieval websites can be installed on more than one server, so you may have configured multiple load-balanced web servers.ArchiveOne Search (AOneSearch) website authentication method - The authentication method used to access the ArchiveOne Search website.

*Browse to the AOneSearch website in a web browser, or by opening the Search Archive folder in Outlook. If a login form displays, then Forms-based authentication is configured (this is the default authentication method). If you are not required to log in, then Windows Integrated authentication is being used.
