Barracuda ArchiveOne

How to inhibit the partition thread in ArchiveOne

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 2 years ago
Solution #00007508

Scope:

ArchiveOne Enterprise, v6.2 or later

Answer:

For diagnostic purposes you may be advised by Barracuda Support to disable the partition thread. This thread is responsible for entering data in the AOnePartitionData SQL database.

Note: This involves editing the Windows machine registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Barracuda cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk. It is highly recommended that you create a backup of the registry before making any changes.

1.       On the Archive server, open the Registry Editor by running ‘regedit’.

2.       Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE¥SYSTEM¥CurrentControlSet¥Services¥AOnePolService¥Parameters

3.       Create a DWORD key named ‘InhibitPartitionThread’ and set its value to ‘1′.

4.       Now restart the service ‘ArchiveOne Service’ to affect the change.

Revert the change, simply delete the InhibitPartitionThread key you created and restart the ArchiveOne Service again.
