Barracuda Backup

Why isn?t all of my data replicating to the offsite Barracuda Backup location?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 5 months ago

Solution #00003886

Scope:
All Barracuda Backup Servers, all firmware versions.

Answer:
Barracuda Backup enables control over the rate that data is replicated to the offsite storage locations throughout the day. Rate control allows for the preservation of Internet bandwidth during peak usage and optimizes offsite backup transfers during daily non-peak hours.

Verify you have not exceeded Backup receiver internal capacity.

In some cases, if a large backup is scheduled during the alternate speed limit time interval, replication to the offsite location may not complete within the specified time period. When this problem arises,  p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; direction: ltr; line-height: 120%; text-align: left; }

System Health section on the Dashboard displays a yellow warning status indicator to the right of Replication

indicating a problem with the offsite syncing queue. One of the considerations in resolving this issue is to increase the speed limit to ensure your data replication finishes within the specified time frame. Other considerations include selecting less data to back up or setting your schedule to backup data less frequently.

The Backup > Replication page displays details for each replication target.

The Backup > Replication page displays details for each replication target.

The Dashboard page displays the following offsite transfer statistics:

By default backups are performed at full speed using 50 Mb/second of outbound bandwidth from the Backup appliance

during the speed limit time interval.

Transfer Remaining - p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; direction: ltr; line-height: 120%; text-align: left; }

Displays how much data is currently in queue and in the process of being sent offsite.
