Barracuda Backup

What services need to be enabled on Windows Small Business Server 2003/2008 for Barracuda Backup Agent backups to run successfully?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 7 years ago

Solution #00004666

Scope:

Applies to Barracuda Backup Service.

Answer:

Windows Small Business Server 2003/2008 does not have the necessary services running by default to run a backup with the Barracuda Backup Agent.

You need to start the SBSMONITORING service before attempting to start SBSMONITORING Agent. Check the SBSMONITORING service and see if it is disabled. It will need to be enabled and set to autorun.

Also, If you have a SQL server that you will want to back up, you may want to start the below services at this time as well. These services will need to be running if you wish to back up your SQL server.

SQLAgent$SBSMonitoring
MSSQL$SBSMonitoring
