Scope:
This solution applies to all Barracuda Backup Servers, firmware version 4.0 and higher. 490 Barracuda Backup Appliance and larger.
Answer:
Site-to-site replication can be done either at the data source level or globally. This document provides instructions for both.
Data-Source Level Replication:
- In order to replicate data, you first have to log in to the Barracuda Backup Service web interface at:
- On the left, click on the Backup Server that you'd like to replicate data to. That backup server will be referred to as the 'destination'.
- Once you've selected the destination backup server, click 'Replication' under the 'BACKUP' tab.
- Take note of the Serial Number and Replication Code for the 'Destination'.
- Next, click on the Backup Server that contains the data source that you'd like to replicate, then click 'Sources' at the top of the page.
- Click Edit next to the Data Source that you'd like to replicate.
- At the bottom of the Edit Data Source screen, check the box next to "Replicate to other Barracuda Backup Servers", then click "Add a new Backup Server".
- Enter a the IP address or host-name of the 'Destination' backup server.
- The address must be accessible from the source backup server. Alternate port numbers can be specified, for example 192.168.1.2:5001.
- Next, enter the Serial number of the destination backup server, then enter the replication code.
- Click Verify & Save to verify connectivity to the destination backup server and save the configuration. This configuration will replicate the individual data source to another Barracuda Backup Server.
Global Level Replication:
You can replicate ALL of the data on your source backup server to the destination backup server that you've just configured by going to the replication page and putting a check in the box next to "Send All Local Backups".
