Barracuda Backup

Is it possible to configure the Barracuda Backup Server to use proxy servers instead of configuring ports on the firewall?

  • Type: Knowledgebase
  • Date changed: 5 years ago

Solution #00005772

Scope:

This solution applies to the Barracuda Backup Server, all firmware versions.

Answer:
No, the Barracuda Backup Server must use ports 80, 443, 1194, and 5120-5129 for TCP and UDP.

These ports cannot be proxied through any edge device, unless exempted from the proxy or NAT'ed through a firewall. For more information about setting your Backup Server up in complex network environments, please contact Barracuda Technical Support.

More information about ports used by the Backup Service can be found in this solution.
